On September 23, 2010 the Marin Independent Journal reported that "San Rafael ranks 11th, just below Santa Barbara and above the Monterey Peninsula, among the Nation's most expensive markets for large homes."  On Wednesday Coldwell Banker released a report that did not include smaller, more expensive real estate markets as Mill Valley and Tiburon because it focused specifically on areas with high concentrations of four bedroom houses.
